The pieces on this album were all free improvisations. Most are reproduced here more-or-less in full. A minority are excerpts, with fades in and out as required, from longer recordings. This selection process helped us to define pieces with distinctive feels and to retrospectively provide the mainly visually-themed titles. The only other editing has been the occasional equalisation.

Alphabethead played a single turntable through a mixer, a multi-effects pedal and a guitar amp. Simon O'Rorke played a wide variety of percussion instruments, including gongs, bells, drums, blocks and scrapers. On Cheer Horn Blues, he played a wind whistle and a cheer horn.

Recorded at O'Rorke Towers, Wellington, New Zealand on 27th February 2005 (track 1), 6th March 2005 (tracks 6 and 9), 13th March 2005 (tracks 2, 5 and 11) and 8th May 2005 (tracks 3, 4, 7, 8 and 10).
